it has been a month since my last blogger posting. i guess it has been easier for me to share my photos on flickr and post information on facebook... but i still value this page as it is truly a place to update happenings in the Locken Life. the kids continue to grow and evolve and always surprise us with all that they do.

kids come home today!

the kids have been in eugene with amy's parents since saturday. I was out of town for a couple days looking for work and amy was working. I am so excited to see them! I'll be heading to N.E. Oregon soon with them for a few days to visit gramma iNez and to see the cousins and aunts and uncles! It should be a fun trip. Hoping to have time to stop a few places to share with them... Multnomah Falls, Etc.

time for an update

it's been too long since i've added anything to this blog... i may switch it over to my typepad acct that i opened for www.guestontap.com

maybe not. i should keep this place for just the Locken Life updates. yeah that's what i'll do.

blind pilot on tv

park city, deer valley, sundance 09

amy and i were fortunate to make a trip to park city with some new friends to experience the Sundance Film Festival 2009. We had a fantastic group of people staying in a house just outside of downtown Park City. we had many fun filled nights and busy days as some people had work to do, others had movies to see, i had to ski part of one day at Deer Valley. Four nights of great memories,... cheers to all of the housemates and others we met out and about.

getting a good amount of snow for portland. if the wind stops blowing and no freezing rain falls in the morning then i'll take the kids for a sled ride tomorrow. this afternoon i pulled them back and forth a few times in front of the house.... maybe we can do the park tomorrow if it all works out. just a little warmth but no freezing rain and we could build a huge snowman in the front yard.

sawyer will be two on the 18th of december. what an amazing little kid. wears his heart on his sleeve already, smiles with his eyes along with his great little mouth. likes to dance with his arms a swinging and boy o boy does he enjoy his big sister ruby! i usually don't say things like i'm about to: we are so blessed. love you sawyer and ruby..

getting ready around here for christmas and the new year. i am done working at dex.. 11 years of graphics design with freelance on the side, mixed in with a new passion for photography... i'm ready to look for better options and brighter days. i will miss nothing more than some of the friendships i made and look forward to the next few weeks in december as i get things planned out and spend some extra time with my wife and kids.

sawyer 23 months.. ruby 5yrs and counting.

23 months and counting

sawyer is 23 months old today! i'll have to post a photo later. ruby leads sawyer around the house playing and troublemaking but they are turning into a great team of brother/sister... he still doesn't use many words but understands everything.. .. he says 'wow' mama, dadda, beru.. and often times ruby... ouch.. and lately is starting to say with emphasis.. 'no'... one of these days his words are going to flood out of him and smack us upside the face. :-) ruby is enjoying kindergarten more and more.. we have set up 2playdates after school everyother week and she really likes that.. she goes home after school with her friend then the next day with another friend. i was in bed all weekend recovering from a procedure at the dr. office friday so i am looking forward to the coming weekend when i'll have the kids... to wrestle, play, get outside if weather permits, and to be with them. so keep up the good work ruby in school and sawyer, keep on smiling and screaming with your big sister beru. love dadda and mama

the paul newman pumpkin was her idea for amy's pumpkin since we have a couple magazines around the house, since his passing... she also watched part of cool hand luke with me the other night. rip p.newman.
